Love with all your Art. Start a REVOlution.
If I were to sum up REVO LA, I’d say that it’s a mix of extremely talented and caring people coming together using what they do best to help a community in need. These people attract the best and most compassionate artists; they take great pride in their work and want to share it with others, in order to benefit those who are less fortunate.
One of REVO LA’s first events is an art show to be held at UCLA’s Ackerman Grand Ballroom on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 7pm. Tickets are $10, and proceeds benefit the youth of West Papua. Check out this awesome-tacular video:
The love and passion that the folks over at REVO LA have is so contagious that I decided to volunteer to help promote their event. I’ve been spending the past few days putting up posters and leaving fliers at businesses in the Westwood area near UCLA.
And I’m not the only one that has been bit by the REVO bug. The LA team has brought together an amazing group of artists and sponsors to benefit the youth of West Papua. Here’s a list from the official website:

Okay okay. It’s a list of names and links, some familiar, most not. Wanna see some sample artwork from featured artists? Check out my friend’s blog: brendonjames.xanga.com. He’ll be featured at the art show as well.
It’s not often that I get so sucked in to a cause or project. I only hope that REVO LA can encourage more and more people of Los Angeles to love with all their art.

what a small world, dariane
how do you know revo? nina brav is a friend of mine and i’ll be going to the event. i was at the first REVO in hilo hawaii and used to blog for their revola blog. hahah will i see you there?
I know about REVO from my hometown friend BeeJay (aka Brendon James aka Brother Teresa) who works on some of the artwork for REVO LA. I met Nina briefly at his birthday dinner thing, and again not too long ago when she left me some posters and fliers to spread around UCLA and Westwood. I will totally be there!
